The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the area.
The Watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday evening.
“A rapidly intensifying offshore storm may produce significant snowfall later Wednesday night through Thursday,” The NWS stated.
Strong winds are possible Thursday, however the actual impacts including snowfall amounts will be highly dependent on the track
of the offshore intensifying storm. There is at least some potential for significant snow amounts.
Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Thursday. Total snow
accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible.
Strong winds may result in considerable blowing and drifting snow. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
