As first reported on our news alerts (@LakewoodScoop), a Frum girl was assaulted on Lexington Avenue this evening, and police have a party of interest, police confirm.
The girl was walking on Lexington Avenue shortly before 11 PM when a male – who sources tell TLS was a Hispanic – approached the girl asking her for the time and then hit her, police tell TLS. The girl wasn’t seriously injured, police say.
Police and Hatzolah members swarmed the area in search of the suspect, who was spotted approximately three blocks away.
Police confirm to TLS they have a party of interest who is currently being questioned.
The incident comes just weeks after another Frum teen was assaulted on the train tracks near Park Avenue. In that incident, the girl was thrown to the ground.

Sorry to hear of this, girls should never be walking alone especially late at night. Glad the person was caught.

I’m going to assume that since the article said she was a “girl” that this was a child. No child, male or female, should be walking around alone at 11pm. Please parents, start using better judgment and keep your children safe. So sorry this happened to this girl.

How did they know he was Hispanic
Self defense classes were proven to be worse for girls due to the fact that it gives them confidence that gets them in more trouble. Maybe giving girls classes in how to use pepper spray correctly and giving them a whistle (they used to) in case of emergencies like these. Proper deployment of pepper spray and Keeping sane in such a situation already takes time and training
The girls should have a gun license and carry a gun at all times after all in our generation the women are the bread winners they should be running everything including self defense

Our liberal society at work – Instead of creating legal deterrents that would actually deter these criminals from attacking people, we have lawyers that will get these criminals off on technicalities, a legal system that is more afraid of being politically correct than taking these goons off the streets and cops that have to be afraid of being called on trying to implement the protection of innocent society. Is Law and Order still on the political list of What we are trying to Accomplish – or are we too busy with animal and marriage rights.
Anyone should be able to walk any where at any time on public property. You can’t live in fear. Also a pair can be even more attractive as victims. Be aware of your surroundings.
the source of prob is that unlike our grandmas who carry pocket books large enough to fit multiple shotguns and no one wanted to find out the hard way what she carries todays young women carry purses so small they cant even fit a nail file we should pass a ordinance to ban any purse which cant fit at least a semi 9mm the bubehs had seichel!!
why was she attacked did he take her phone? or stam a hate crime?
A gun license doesn’t mean they are legally allowed to carry a concealed firearm. Furthermore a man with experience fighting and stealing will knock a girl out and have her gun and wallet in his possession in seconds. Pepper spray however is extremely effective and is legal to carry and won’t leave anybody dead. I think there should be training given to women in how to affectivly deploy and spray pepper spray. It actually isn’t so simple. % 100 of people who don’t learn proper technique end up spraying themselves too. Or having it taken from their hands before they even have a chance.
If there were “sources” who could identify the man was Hispanic, why did they not help the girl?
