The LSTA has notified TLS moments ago that there will not be busing in Friday.
“Although the roads are in much better shape at this time, out of an abundance of safety and caution, the LSTA will not be providing buses due to frigid weather, visibility issues and no place for the students to wait on the sidewalks – which are presently covered in snow,” Rabbi Avraham Krawiec told TLS.
He added, “As a general rule, we wait until as late as possible to make the decision in case a possibility of having buses surfaces. In this case, after consultations with the Lakewood Police Department, Traffic and Safety, DPW and the Township, we believe this is the prudent time to make this decision.”
Be in touch with your child’s school regarding openings.
As earlier reported on our news alerts, the Lakewood public school district cancelled school for Friday.
Rediculous! Roads are totally fine…driving all over town…now no schools will have school again
Not all roads are good. Miller no good, New Central no good, Sunset no good
i am very happy with the decision. there is no place for kids to wait at the bus stop and it is not safe. Thank you for all that you do.
Safety first. Thank you LSTA for being so prudent.
Hey Thank You. Roads are solid ice, Busses have large snow drifts , some streets are unclear and it’s Friday early dismissal. And it’s 7 degrees wind chill below 0. For standing on corner. Or walk-ing in middle of street. Have a Great Shabbos.
