JUST IN: Lakewood Resident Among Pedestrians, Drivers Nearly Struck by Gunfire in Monticello [PHOTOS]

A Lakewood resident among others was nearly struck by gunfire during a shooting in Monticello this afternoon.

The resident tells TLS he was driving near the Monticello High School and Ichud Bungalows when he heard shots ring out.

“I suddenly saw masked men shooting near my car,” the driver said.

He and others around fled the area and called police.

According to Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce’s Duvi Honig, who passed by the scene, officials said it appears the shooting was gang-related, but after speaking with near-victims, he says he belives it was an anti-Semitic incident.

Two people are reportedly in custody.

Authorities are using K9s to assist in the investigation.
