UPDATED: Lakewood public school teachers rehired

The Board of Education announced moments ago the rehiring of the teachers who were let go due to budget constraints.

The rehiring comes after the state’s $8.5 million dollar loan.

All teachers are being rehired, except guidance councelors in elementary school, librarians, and some athletic counselors.

UPDATE: The Board failed to vote on the budget, but it was overridden and approved by the State Monitor.

This is false. As of 10pm they entered closed session with no approval of budget.
