Lakewood Mayor Menashe Miller Orders Flags in Lakewood Lowered to Half-staff in honor of Murdered Dallas Police Officers

flag tlsLakewood Mayor Menashe Miller moments ago announced that the flags at all Lakewood Township facilities will be lowered to half-staff in honor of the five police officers murdered last night in Dallas, Texas, the deadliest toll for U.S. law enforcement since 9/11.

“Our hearts are filled with anguish at the brutal death of these heroes, who ran towards gunfire in order to protect the lives of civilians,” Mayor Miller said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their bereaved families and colleagues. “Lakewood Township stands in solidarity with the city of Dallas and heroic law enforcement officers throughout America, including our township’s police officers, during these trying times. May God heal and protect our nation so that we see brighter days ahead.”

  1. Please stop saying that this is the deadliest toll on US law enforcement since 9/11. The brutal murder of 5 Dallas police officers was an attack on police, 9/11 was not an attack on police it was an attack on Americans. Please keep these officers and their families in your prayers. G-D bless America and G-D bless our police officers, fire fighters, and all emergency personnel.

  2. Unfortunately flags at half staff are becoming more and more common, and less significant. I hope the day never comes we raise them upside down tied with a double knot. This is sad for the families and our country.
