JUST IN: Lakewood Board of Education Receives Approval of LSTA Busing for 2022-2023 School Year [EXCLUSIVE]

The Lakewood Board of Education a short time ago received a State approval that allows the district to contract with the LSTA to provide busing for Lakewood.

“Through the determined efforts of the Board, especially Transportation Chair Isaac Zlatkin, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, Avi Schnall and others, busing thru the LSTA will continue for next year,” General Counsel Michael Inzelbuch told TLS. “If this didn’t happen, Lakewood would be in a real bind – both as to students and finances.

“Specifically,” Inzelbuch added, “many public and non public students would not receive busing and the Board would have to go out for all new bids when we all know there are few buses available and only at a higher price as the cost of gasoline has gone up.”

Inzelbuch concluded, “Unlike Jackson Board of Ed, Lakewood Board fought to have more kids bused – as opposed to an aide in lieu check. A win win for all!”
