JUST IN: Khal Hampshire Hills Receives Final Approval for Construction of New Bais Medrash

In a major milestone for its rapidly expanding kehillah, Khal Hampshire Hills received final approval for the construction of their new bais medrash at Monday night’s meeting of the Jackson Township Planning Board.

As the community has grown, so has the need for a larger and more suitable makom Torah U’Tefillah. Meticulous planning has been underway for the past several years to construct a state-of-the-art bais medrash befitting the kehillah. With the Planning Board’s green light, construction on this much-anticipated project can now officially begin.

The now-approved shul building will feature a spacious 4,300-square-foot bais medrash, along with an ezras nashim, two mikvaos, and a beautifully designed simcha hall. It will also feature over 100 parking spaces, enabling it to accommodate all those who frequent the bais medrash.

This new, expansive building will allow Khal Hampshire Hills to host all weekday tefilos, shiurim, and other learning opportunities, both during the week and on Shabbos.

_Khal Hampshire Hills serves over 100 frum families. It is led by its esteemed Rov, Rav Yoel Marton, who serves as a guide and mentor to the kehillah – and beyond.

  1. To all those building new buildings with simcha halls, please make sure there’s either a ramp (going directly to floor level of the hall & not to a staircase) or an elevator (that’s not locked) making it accessible so caterers, photographers, & musicians don’t have to carry their heavy equipment down flights of stairs. Why is it fair for them to have to make a million trips back & forth up & down stairs with heavy equipment each round bec they can’t use their cart? Then they get all sweaty & tired out & now first have to work? Besides it’s a tremendous disservice to the elderly & people in a wheelchair trying to be part of the simcha but can’t get to the hall because there’s only stairs. We’ll talk about “ample” parking spaces a different time…

  2. With the exorbitant price tag for all the services the Balei Simcha have to pay, the providers can hustle a little (why do we pay a musician $2,500 for 2.5 hours of actual work)!!
