The Garden State Parkway has been shut between exit 91 and 98 due to a large brushfire.
Governor Murphy has been briefed of the situation.
UPDATE 10:25 AM: “Preliminary information revealed that there was a fire in an underground drain pipe that runs beneath the north and southbound lanes of the GSP,” NJSP said. “Both directions of travel were closed for an extended period of time but have since fully reopened. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”

when will it reopen ?
Does anyone know how find out exactly where a specific mile marker is located? I often see notifications with mile marker numbers to indicate the location but can’t figure out where it is.
Exit numbers roughly correspond to mile marker. Therefore mile marker 85 is south of exit 91 and mile marker 95 is north of exit 91, but south of exit 98. Hope that helps.
