Howell Police have announced charges in connection with an assault that occurred on November 17th on Pinewood Road.
According to officials, Detective Ryan Jackson, the lead investigator, identified 18-year-old Jaden Thompson of Freehold Township as the suspect. Thompson was charged on a Complaint-Summons with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3rd degree) and Simple Assault (disorderly persons offense).
Police noted that Thompson is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail on unrelated criminal charges as of November 29, 2025.
Authorities added that several tips from community members aided the investigation and thanked residents for their vigilance and concern for the safety of the township.
Let’s hope true justice is meted out; not some slap on the wrist. That’s someone would go out of their way from Freehold to Howell to commit an act borne of both hatred and violence is extremely disturbing.
