Where? in Lakewood? Jewish? Why do we have to know this kind of news unless it is pertinent to us?
DUH!!!!You have to know it so that you can be careful.
say tehilim
to mr /mrs. oy vey. sounds to me that unless something happens to u directly or affects you directly then and only then is something a problem in lakewood. stop being so self centered and wake up for a change. Go back to yeshiva and relearn the definition of BIShVILI NIVRA HAOLAM. being selfish is a terrible mida
to oy vey. yes its important because it happened to your neighbor. if that’s not a good reason then what is?
Where is this apt Bldg, does anyone know?
Is this currently being treated like a Homicide or a suicide? Anyone ? Any body ? Don’t all answer at once.
It was a suicide. It happened in an apartment complex in the New Hampshire Ave area.
I HOPE THAT IT GETS THE SAME ATTENTION AS THE HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT. SORRY IT HAS 2 B SAID
editor it`s 3 hours more info please.address etc.
Oy vey!!!!!
Yes Oy Vey that someone can have the nerve and audacity to make such a statement. How selfish and self-centered can a person be?!! If YOU are such an animal and don’t care about such terrible news then simply don’t read this blog and DEFINITELY do not make such a stupid comment. I cannot fathom that someone can say something so disgusting and this is without even knowing where this occured. Does it only make a difference if it happened on Forest Ave??I hate to say it but the hate that people like you cause is indescribable and for good reason. If you are such a dog then at the least keep your idiotic comments in your stomach where it belongs. Don’t put all of us in the limelight. Boruch Hashem we do not share the same sickness that you have. I am ashamed that you are Jewish. I will try to believe that you are a 13 year old punk that still doesn’t know that there is a world besides for themselves.
TLS Editor:
PLEASE delete the message put on by “Oy Vey”. It is inappropriate for this website to be used as a platform for the narrowmindedness of some stupid guy. A comment like that should never be allowed on your site.
This is response to the folks who wait around for someone to question any article and lash out wth a fury against that individual with self righteousness how all people are equal, go back to yeshiva or coffee room and pick your nose blah blah blah.
There are thousands upon thousands of news sites and blogs. Many of them target a specific issue, community, race, lifestyle etc…
Perhaps TLS should have on the home page a mission statement but as for now it is understood by many that this site is for news ( the scoop) on issues affecting Lakewood. it is also understood that since the owner of this site is a religous jew and the content of over 90% of the articles are about news or events that interest religous jews. furthermore, all advertisers of this site are religous jews and their intended target are religous jews. Given these facts, it is perfectly understandable to question an article about an unfortunate tragedy of a person found dead in an apartment building without any further information whatsoever. Yes, it makes a difference if this happened in Lakewood, whether the person is jewish and the circumstances of what and how this happened. the reason is not because we don’t care about people from other religions and backgrounds but rather because there are many news and blog sites that one can read of such and other stories ad infinitum, however, the reason we come to this site is for Lakewood news tha affect the religous jewish population. May the news always be good.
As I mentione at the beginning, if this is not TLS’ mission statement, then please state otherwise.
I’d like to end by stating that I know that there are a lot of non-jews that read this site, you are welcome as anyone else is, my letter does not intend to exclude you or slight you in any way.
Chag Sameach! A Gutten Moed!
Hey David!
I agree; this is a site dedicated to LAKEWOOD news. There are numerous articles on this site that have absolutely nothing to do with our community. If you take issue with that I believe the editor has his e-mail address on the home page. On a side note I for one am not in Yeshiva for a few years already. I’d actually be quicker to suspect that Mr. “Oy Vey”is one of those “nose pickers”from Yeshiva as you call them. Thanks for giving us a new title for the yeshiva yungerleit though. I’m not sure if I like yours or Norman Lamn’s more but you’re definitely in a close race. If you keep it up you’re destined for greatness.
Lakewood770, I did not or never would call Yeshiva people nose pickers. I was taking umbrage against people who call them that. Read my article again. Apparently you are one of the people whom I take umbrage against.
I too am working but I hold yeshiva people in the highest regard and your comment is quite offensive, similar to ones that are found in anti-semitic literature.
I might note that your comments are a total antithesis of what Chabad stands for. ( BTW I have great respect for Lubavitchers too).
I love you as a jew but I don’t like your comment.
David written very very well!!! Could not have said it any better!
Any updates on this story?
David. I reread your post and now I see what youi meant. I also see how somebody reading it quickly could get the impression that 770 got. Incidentellu when I read it the first time I also got that impression. The grtammar could have been a bit clearer but now I see what you really meant.
To David:
I also just reread your comment after noticing someone else had mentioned that your comment could have been misinterpreted. Yes;I see what you really meant and I sincerely apologize although it was written in a way that made it very easily understood the way I did. Btw I am the furthest thing from a Lubavitcher and the name was just picked out of the box.As for the harshness of my comment;it was sharp because I misunderstood your comment as it seems many others did. Again,I apologize.
A Gut Moed
Lkwd770 – apology accepted. I guess it’s now my turn to apologize and bless you because I definitely thought that you were serious and now it seems that you were being sarcastic. I have to say that from the way you wrote your comment and from your previous post attacking the first poster, it seemed to me that you were anti- yeshivaleit. If that was not your attention than you should be blessed. However I question your anger and your attacking the other poster with names and other harsh innuendo. We are all adults and can agree to disagree.
I haven’t commented for a very long time for this very reason because it seems that no matter how careful one may be and how well they may think of their literary talent, there is bound to be someone or in this case many people who misunderstand or take what’s written out of context.
Once again, I apologize and actually shudder to think that however inadvertently it may have been, it was led to believe from my comment that I somehow misaligned yeshiva people. I have some serious tshuva to do.
Was misaskim needed ?
David:
In no way whatsoever would I have knocked yeshivaleit. Although I have left Yeshiva a few years ago I still know that ultimately we exist because of them and that learning Torah is what we are here for. Some are zoche tolearn the whole day and some only part…but that is what we are all about. B’H we live in a town that even working people have such views. It is very unfortunate that many leave Yeshiva and immediately feel as if they are a “new” person. They think they need to act differently, dress diferently….I apologize again. Honestly I am truly confused how my comment was thought to be knocking yeshivaleit but CHAS V’SHALOM that was never my intention. On the contrary I was backing them. It is very sad but many times the Yeshivaleit get knocked on various blogs. There are even blogs which I will not look at the comments any more because they even knock our biggest gedolim!! I heard a speech from a gadol here in America in which he mentioned blogs and referred to them as “this generations Avodah Zorah”. People mock everything that is sacred to Judiasm and hide behing a veil of anonymity.
Lkwd770 – I agree.
You’re a good man!
looks like Woodlake Village.
