Authorities are investigating after a woman in Lakewood reportedly opened an envelope with powder inside and began feeling ill.

The woman reportedly received the suspicious envelope in the mailbox, and upon opening it found a sponge with powder inside, and began feeling dizzy, officials say.

The Lakewood Police Department and Fire Department responded to the scene, and have requested the Haz-Mat team to respond.

UPDATE: 3:40 PM: Officials say the tests came back clear of chemicals. The woman refused medical attention.

  1. can the woman think of anybody in particular that might want to scare her? or harm her? Than it might be easier to find the person that sent it to her? Just trying to play detective in this case. Because this is not a laughing matter.

  2. If she’s a pro-vaxxer then it was probably sent by an anti-vaxxer; and if she’s an anti-vaxxer then it was sent by a pro-vaxxer. Case closed
