Just 5 BYE Girls Remain Unplaced, Down From 25

Bais Yaakov ElementarySources tell TLS that only 5 girls from the former Bais Yaakov Elementary school still remain without a school, a few days after the school year had begun. That number of girls form the former BYE school without a place to go, stood at approximately 25 just three weeks ago. As earlier reported, the dedication of individuals who have taken it upon themselves to see to it that the girls are placed by working closely with the local school directors, has resulted in most of the girls finding a new school.

A total of 72 girls were left without a school after the school announced its closing in February, as first reported on TLS.

Many of the girls were placed several weeks later, and five families – with eight students – moved away from Lakewood following the closing. TLS-CCP

  1. Kol HaMatzil Nefesh Achas MiYisroel Ki’Eelu Keeyam Oilum Moley.
The askonim did a ‘Vunderbar’ job, but 5 girls left is 5 too many.

  2. the sadest part of this are the families that had to leave town because the town could not/would not accept them because they are slightly different.

  3. JUST 5?? One child is a whole world….What if just that child was your child? Btw, there are more than JUST 5 children out. My neighbor has a highschool girl out. Are we not all guilty of sending our kids to school when we know our sis and bros are suffering?? Why couldnt the schools be closed until every child of Hashem is placed?? Do you know as a fact that gd favors our child over theirs??? Wake up yiden

  4. 25 years ago they begged my parents to send me to a yeshiva. Today We need to beg to send our kids to yeshiva. What has the om hatorah come to? We must all protest that no schools are opened until every last Jewish child is enrolled in a Jewish school. Where is the Vaad? Where are the rabonim? Maybe the LAC needs to step up and do something about this this is not a new problem but in this town for the passed 10 years people have to fight to send there kids to a frum school. THIS MUST STOP NOW if we want mashiach to come.

  5. To # 2, our school system is not broken!
To # 4, I have a feeling that those who you say are only slightly different are way more than just slightly.
Those who can not change their way of dress to really blend it with the rest, will simply not get in. I feel terrible for the child but unfortunately, don’t feel bad for the Mother. Also, any house that I would not like my child to go play in, I am not comfortable with them in my school.

  6. I know more then 5 kids that are still out I know its sounds good to say only 5 but it more and
Even if its 5 the pain is there and the girls know they were not wanted why should hashem
Judge the ones who except and don’t except different then they judge the girls

  7. To # 9!
Look at your family and tell us all honestly if you are all perfect! I can bet u that there are some things that would embaress you if it came out. Last time I checked, the Jewish people generally accept all Jewish people no matter what. Just because you don’t see them improving on the outside doesn’t mean they aren’t improving on the inside. Just because they don’t dress to your standards of Tznius doesn’t mean they aren’t better then you with Loshon Hara or something else. Who are you to judge??????? In a few days is Rosh Hashana and I think all of us can use a few days to sit back and think about our own actions and stop judging everyone else!!!!

  8. TO #9:

HOW DARE YOU! YOU SAY ITS BECAUSE OF HOW THESE FAMILIES DRESS… ARE DIFFERENT… I KNOW BECAUSE OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THAT I WAS NOT ANY DIFFERENT THAN YOU! I AM ALWAYS MORE COVERED THAN MOST YESHIVISH KOLEL LADIES AND I STILL COULD NOT GET MY CHILD INTO SCHOOL. (I AM NOT ONE OF THESE BAIS YAAKOV PARENTS- I WENT TO WHAT YOU WOULD CALL “A MAINSTREAMED” SCHOOL BEFORE THIS). I KNOW THAT WE DO HAVE SOME WONDERFUL SCHOOLS HERE IN LAKEWOOD, BUT IF THIS IS HAPPENING FOR ALMOST A DECADE THAN SOMETHING IN THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!

  9. Please dont state things that are not true . There is an askan who has seen to it that all high school girls were placed so you are just spreading misinformation .

  10. # 16:

THERE MIGHT BE SOMEONE THAT THE VAAD PUT IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOOL SITUATION AND SO ON… BUT #8 IS CORRECT! WHY SHOULD THE SCHOOLS OPEN?! IF IT WAS YOUR PRIMARY GIRL ASKING WHY SHE’S NOT GOING ON THE BUS WITH ALL OF THE OTHER CHILDREN YOU WOULD BE OUTRAGED!! YOU WOULD ALSO WANT THE SCHOOLS TO STAY CLOSED! BOTTOM LINE- EACH LAKEWOOD CHILD DESERVES THE RIGHT TO BE ACCEPTED INTO A LAKEWOOD SCHOOL! PERIOD! AND HAVING SAID THAT, THEY SHOULD NOT START SCHOOL UNTILL EACH AND EVERY CHILD IS REALLY PLACED- NOT PUSHED INTO A SCHOOL THAT IS NOT FITTING FOR THEIR CHILD! (I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE!)

  11. R u so sure Hashem is comfortabe with U???????? Gd runs the world middah keneged middah…Do u want Hashem to judge u the way u judge others? R u so sure u will end up seeing more nachas than that woman thats different than U?? Im naive….fill me in

  12. I know two of the five girls. It is not right that the Yiddisha Nishomos of these girls have to suffer. What did these two LITTLE girls do wrong?????????????????
