Jury Begins Deliberations In Crockam Trial

UPDATED: The fate of Jahmell Crockam is now in the hands of the Jury. Jurors this afternoon – two weeks after the trial started – began deliberating the case after the Prosecutors and Attorney presented their closing arguments in the case. Prosecutors say they have enough evidence against Crockam placing him as the shooter, according to the multiple witnesses who have come forward and other corroborating evidence.

Defense attorney Mark Fury however, questioned the reliability of the witnesses and said the biggest defense is the fact that no DNA was found on the alleged shooter and no weapon was ever found tying him to the murder.

The trial now awaits the jurors’ verdict.

If convicted, Crockam could spend the rest of his life behind bars, with no parole. TLS.

UPDATE 5:15 PM. The jury has not  reached a verdict today. They will reconvene tomorrow to continue deliberations.

  1. There is a small possibility the jury will let him go. Remember OJ Simpson?

Most of the evidence against crockam was witness testimony. No DNA, no weapon found. He is clearly the guilty party, but we have to be prepared for the possibility that he will be set free in a matter of days…

  2. There are many who say “I hope that Israel doesn’t bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, because who knows what Iran may do in retaliation. I’m scared.”

Along the same lines, “I hope Jahmell is found innocent, because if he is found guilty, who knows what his brother or some other friend or gangster will do in retaliation. I’m scared.”

    Just saying.

  3. He’s innocent until proven guilty no matter who the victim is! Having followed along the trial all I can say is if I were on the jury I would say the prosecution has failed to prove he did it beyond a reasonable doubt[period].

  4. did he ever say he didnt do it or did he just sit therequietly?! i dont care WHAT his lawyer said. its all about HIM, not his mouth piece. maybe he’s still in shock that he shot the officer…. wouldnt u be????

  5. This is going to be another Casey Anthony case, Not enough proof and too much reasonable doubt. Unless a Jersey jury has some spine he may walk…………

  6. WOW!!! As a Family Member of 2! POLICE OFFICERS in the LKWD POLICE this Really Concerns ME!!! I PRAY!!! The JURY & JUDGE be Directed with the Wisdom & Knowledge of GOD…..

  7. I hope some pd brothers find this (moderated) and tie him between 2 trees and start a fire. But a slow painful one.

This (moderated) needs to be punished in order for his gang fellow and his brother learn that there will be their turn.

Ps hey he killed another guy on Westwood, he’s not going anywhere

  8. Yes, he may walk. But this is a testament to the greatness of America. Nobody goes to jail unless a jury finds him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

You see, we are still a free country. In other countries, if the government wants you behind bars, you will be there, and nobody can stop them. Only in America do you need so much proof to put someone behind bars.

We are still free! Enjoy it while you can!

It won’t stay this way forever.

(I do hope he gets put away for life. I wish he would get the death penalty. But we must still thank G-d for having the best justice system in the world, where the burden of proof is on the government!!!)

  9. #10…. DNA as in blood spatter. You don’t have to touch someone to transfer DNA!
#4… Well said and my thoughts exactly.
To be found guilty the jury has to be positive, without reasonable doubt. If there is any doubt, you cannot find someone guilty.
