Joint Base: Soldiers to Conduct Artillery Training; Area Residents may Experience Ground Shaking, Considerable Noise

joint base mdl usafThe New Jersey Army National Guard’s 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery is scheduled to conduct field artillery training at the Dix ranges at Joint Base MDL August 21-28.

The training is slated to take place during daylight hours and is part of the fielding of the M119A3 and M777A2 howitzers to the NJANG. During this time, the joint base community and residents of the surrounding areas may experience ground shaking and considerable noise coming from the ranges. The noise may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.

This training is essential and helps ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst works hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.
