Marines 3rd Battalion and 6th Engineer Support Battalion are scheduled to conduct live fire artillery training at Joint Base MDL and areas along or close to Route 70 from Feb. 18 – 21.
The training is slated to take place during daylight and evening hours. The training will consist of firing 155 mm howitzers. On Feb. 20, the 6th ESB will be conducting demolitions between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
During this three-day training, the joint base community and residents of the surrounding areas may experience ground shaking and considerable noise coming from the ranges. The noise may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.
“Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst appreciates the patience and support of our surrounding communities as we continue to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force,” the Base wrote.
