“… And the summons was cancelled. Surely??”

On a medical injury scene, legally EMS has full control of the scene. WAS THE TICKET PULLED? WAS THE OFFICER REBUKED? Because he should have, he has no legal authority to tell EMS to remove their car. Stop being appeasers and get the Police to follow the law. They swore to uphold the law, so lets see them keep to it.

As far as I’m concerned the issue is now over. I am ready to turn over a new leaf with my perspective..

But as far as Mr. wilson himself goes, I gotta be honest and say that I remain suspicious..

Summons has not been pulled.
Wilson has not been disiplined.
If we need Hatzolah, can we be assured of a timely response or do Hatzolah members have to be afraid of cops harassing them therby putting OUR lives in danger?
When someone is willing to give up his time and sarafice everything to help the community and to be there when human lives are on the line, does he have to worry about jealous cops giving bogus tickets?

I know we’re in golus but look at the state of EMS in New Jersey and you will realize this is an issue of Pikuach nefashos!
Are we willing to accept a 25 minute response time because “they” have no concept of human life?

Hey Dictatorship,

why don’t you just shut your mouth. The heads of these 2 organazations are working out all the issues.

Stop trying to stir up more problems.

Go back to your coffee room & have another cig.

As for the LAW, let the lawyers deal with it.

Cops don’t realize they lost the PR war as soon as Wislon pulled out the ticket book.
When you’re on the floor who’re you gonna call? an ambulance or a meter maid with a gun.
Wilson can jump up and down. Cops can put all types of spin how Hatzolah drives too fast (as opposed to the VERY SLOW way the cops drive) and how this member was parked in a hazardous way (like 30 witnesses don’t know what they saw) bottom line is Hatzolah was running to help someone. Wilson was running for his ticket book.

Mr. Moshe Wiess,

When one breaks the LAW, we dont want to wait for the lawyers to show up. When PD doesnt feel it need to abide by the LAW, the next time it will be something else. We need to stand together and insist the LAW is properly followed. otherwise it is a very slippery slope.

Moishe weiss please do not talk down to dictatorship. he is dead right and the heads of these 2 departments should not be working out all the issues, Hatzolah needs to be able to exercise their full rights under the law regardless of what wilson thinks. The pd has to realize that when peoples lives are at stake there is no room for workouts just plain and simple LAWS. i think hatzolahheads need to understand this as well and stop kissing up to lawson.

First- this is not a PR war.

Second- you say 30 witnesses? ha ha we know how good they are…..

Maybe Officer Wilson was trying to protect all the witnesses so they don’t get hurt from anyone being careless.

Mr. Dictatorship, can you please furnish me with the “law” that states EMS is legally in full control of the scene. Also, you should know a ticket can’t be “pulled”, it must be heard and acted on by a judge. And while you’re at it, maybe you could read Title 39 which governs the operation of a motor vehicle. I know, the laws don’t apply to “you”.

to Sergeant LPD about three years ago in lakewood I got a ticket for expired registration when it was not expired so I went immeditiatly to the LPD headquaters, finnally after a couple of hours after I got up the chain of command I got the ticket taken away. No court neccassary, because my registration was perfectly fine. My car was also towed because I could not drive a car with expired registration.

What kind of nerve to say Hatzolah should not “be kissing up to Lawson”?!! Lawson is probably the best chief of police Lakewood has ever seen. He runs a tight ship in a very diverse town. As for Wilson I still think an officer that can do such a thing belongs being demoted to desk duty. He demonstrated a total disregard for human life. His actions stink of racism. It is as obvious as can be. He would never have done such a thing to a member of another emergency team,NEVER. That is all there is to it,there’s nothing more to discuss in regard to his choice of action on that day. As for the rest of PD how dare someone knock them? They are dedicated to our towns safety 24/7. We should not let the few rotten apples which you will have virtually in any police force ruin the entire forces reputation.

Hatzolah was wrong…Wilson was right… This was NOT a matter of life or death to anyone involved…Get over it already, he should have just moved his car when he was asked to do so….End of story…

1:23,
Please get your facts streight before you make any accusations.
According to the Hatzolah member, and all the other witnesses including the TLS reporter, he did move his car as soon as he was told to. Wilson just wrote the ticket to forestall any complaints about his attitude.
The decision wheather a patient who was just dragged by a car is stable or not, takes a few minutes to make even for an experienced paramedic. There was no way any police officer should be comfortable making such a call.
According to a witness that I spoke to there was nothing wrong with where the member put his car. There were police & emergency cars that came later & were parked much worse -on a street that had allready been closd to traffic. Wilson was just being nastý probably was having a bad day.

He should just pay his tickets like everyone else and stop trying to sway the Law in his favor!!!!
