The Jewish Federation of Ocean County deplores the vandalism and hateful anti-Semitic slur, which took place over the weekend at the Sons of Israel Synagogue in Lakewood. All who believe in freedom must be sickened.

The Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Ocean County applauds the swift efforts of the Lakewood police, Chief Mayer and the Ocean County Prosecutors Joseph Coronato in condemning this and other cowardly acts of intolerance, anti-Semitism and bigotry. At a time when there are growing concerns about hate and bigotry, the best way to counter this is for all citizens to join with law enforcement to condemn and combat all forms of racism and say in unison hate has no home in our county.
