Following major traffic issues near Six Flags last weekend, the Jackson Township says they will be cracking down to ensure it doesn’t occur again.
The Township stated: With temperatures soaring into the 90’s this past weekend and the recent ease of COVID restrictions, we are reminded of the increase in traffic to Six Flags Great Adventure as the parks now open to full capacity.
While we expect the increased traffic in that area during the warmer months, the traffic event that occurred this past weekend was surely one we have not witnessed thus far.
The Township cannot and will not allow these traffic issues and violations to continue throughout the season, therefore we will be working closely with State and Local Authorities to ensure that what we experienced last weekend does not happen again. We will be exercising a ‘no tolerance’ policy with such traffic issues to provide a safe travel experience for all residents and visitors to Jackson Township and the Theme Park.
While traffic snarls and congestion can be extremely frustrating, it is important that we remember to practice safe driving for everyone’s well-being, including ourselves and our families.
“Let’s be reminded that when heading to the Park for a good time with your family and friends, you must first arrive there safely,” says Mayor Mike Reina.
