Jackson Township will be receiving a $1.7 million grant to help replace the bridge on Brewers Bridge Road over the Metedeconk River.
The grant, $1,693,861 to be exact, is from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and is one of 42 Local Bridges Fund grants totaling $47.3 million, which go to help counties “maintain local bridges in a state of good repair.”
The Local Bridge Fund is a $47.3 million program funded through the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF). The program provides funding for each of New Jersey’s 21 counties for the improvement of county bridges.
The grants focus on the repair, reconstruction, and replacement of bridges with the greatest structural deficiencies.
I sure hope this project won’t take 8+ months to complete. The total closure of Bethel Church Rd since the beginning of the year has been a major disruption on County Line’s traffic, on top of County Line’s own construction work. Compare that to the 12 days it took to repair the collapsed I95 bridge…
You’re right but you can’t compare a bridge that 160000 people use daily to one the maybe 1000 people use
If Bethel Church had 3,000 cars a day, I venture to say that Brewers Bridge has double that.
