The Jackson Township Memorial Day Parade, organized by Jackson Township Police Benevolent Association Local 168, the Jackson Veterans Commission and other veterans’ organizations, is scheduled for this coming Monday, May 30.
The parade will step off at 10 a.m. at the Holman Elementary School on Manhattan Street, at the intersection of Georgian Boulevard, and then proceed down Manhattan Street to Johnson Park, where Memorial Day ceremonies and festivities will be held. Veterans’ organizations, local schools, youth groups, police, fire and EMS officials are all expected to participate.
“Our local Memorial Day parade presents a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together so we can all remember and honor veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Mayor Michael Reina. “The Township Council and I extend our gratitude to the parade’s organizers, who have worked tirelessly and enthusiastically to plan this year’s parade.”
On the day of the parade at Johnson Park, from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., food trucks and play areas for children will be available both during and after the parade. To join the parade, interested parties should contact Jackson Township Police Officer Mike Basso at [email protected].
