Jackson to enact a 5-minute speaking limit at Township Council meetings

With some people abusing the ability to comment at Township meetings, the Jackson Township will be passing a resolution limiting the time allotted per speaker.

During some meetings, attendees who come to listen would need to wait lengthy periods of time for the agenda to commence.

“A five-minute time limit per person for public comment shall be allowed at a Township Council meeting during the public participation sections thereof,” the resolution reads. “This limit may be relaxed at the sole discretion of the Council President.”
