A Jackson resident has his stolen vehicle back, thanks to an external tracking device discreetly placed in the vehicle, TLS has learned.
The vehicle was stolen late Friday night, but on a Motzei Shabbos, the vehicle owner immediately logged in to track his vehicle.
The tracking device showed the vehicle being in the Bronx, NY. The victim contacted Jackson PD, and gave them the information as to the whereabouts of the vehicle.
In conjunction with the NYPD, Jackson PD and Ocean County Task Force, the vehicle owner was able to locate his vehicle, and get it back.
Upon inspection, they realized the vehicle’s tracking system had been ripped out.
Wonderful idea having device . Glad he found his car . Hopefully in good condition
If the tracking system was ripped out then how was he able to track it?
When I steal a car, I usually put in a “No Tracking” request. Most decent car manufacturers heed my requests. I also use the car’s privacy settings to turn off “tracking”. However, in this instance, the owner had an external tracking device attached to his car, which could be problematic for the unseasoned robber. Nevertheless, for about 5 or 6 dollars, you can purchase a set of cheap, decent tools at Walmart to remove the external tracker.
I recently robbed a tracker detector that I use to detect external tracking devices attached to cars. If I detect an external tracker with my tracker detector, I simply move on to the next car. It’s not worth the time and effort to remove the tracker, unless you really like that particular car.
Happy car hunting!

It says thanx to external tracker
Meaning the internal car tracker. As in the one the car manufacturer has installs in the vehicle. That was taken out. But thanx to external one that the owner installed.
sounds like a plug for the guy selling and installing external trackers
This article is a real surprise. I thought they got rid of all the Police precincts in the Bronx. Lately there are many many shootings in the Bronx.
I hope that during this process with the stolen car, I hope that no one tried to shoot at the Police Officers. The Bronx is really scary.
All kidding aside..
People are low and to steal someone else cars is wrong and in the 10 commandments says though shall not steal!!!!!
