The Jackson Twp. Police Department will be conducting traffic enforcement details throughout the months of June and July in an effort to prevent motor vehicle crashes.
In 2021, Jackson Township reported 1,531 motor vehicle crashes. Of those crashes, 2 were fatal.
“The need for driver education and enforcement is an ongoing due to increased traffic volume within the township,” police said. “Officers will be deployed at various locations known to experience a high volume of motor vehicle crashes. Officers will be looking for violations including, but not limited to, primary collision factors involving speed, red-light violations, distracted driving, unbelted drivers, and right of way violations. When violations are observed, violators will be cited and/or educated on the safety concerns associated with the violation.”
“The police department’s ultimate goal is to enforce and educate the driving public while reducing serious injuries and fatal collisions,” police said.
Radio: Armed shooter at Jackson High School. Officer: Sorry I’m educating a motorist.
To Leah. There’s no room for your levity, however weak.
I agree. I meant no criticism of the fine Jackson police. I know this will never happen here. I was actually thinking about the terrifying and lethal shooting in Uvalde and the failure of their police chief and officers to contain a situation that is escalating nationwide. R’L. May Hashem comfort the families and loved ones of too many children who were niftar and seriously physically and psychologically injured. Yes my satirical comment was over the top.
Will Lakewood police ever ever decide to crack down on dangerous driving? Or just seat belts and texting?
