Jackson Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Motorcyclist Who Fled Traffic Stop

The Jackson Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a motorcyclist who disregarded an officer’s command to stop and fled at a high rate of speed on Frank Applegate Road late last month.

On Wednesday, August 27th, at approximately 11:34 a.m., Officer Colangelo was conducting a traffic enforcement detail in response to speeding complaints when he observed a motorcycle traveling above the posted 40 mph limit. Radar confirmed the operator’s speed at 52 mph.

When Officer Colangelo stepped into the roadway and directed the operator to pull over, the suspect initially slowed before shaking his head “no,” then accelerated toward the officer, nearly striking him, before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue.

Police describe the suspect as a white male wearing a blue helmet, sleeveless shirt, and carrying a black backpack. He has tattoos on both arms — one on the inner left arm and a large piece on the upper right arm. The motorcycle is believed to be a blue 2018–2020 Yamaha MT-07 with a loud exhaust.

The department has released video footage of the incident in both regular and slow motion to aid in identification.

Why would the public help for such a thing?
So you failed to give someone a ticket for something we all would love to get out of.
Good for this guy, I’m really happy that he got away from you.

while nobody wants a ticket. most of us dont run away when we get pulled over. usually when someone does they have other reasons. knowing they will get in trouble…..
