A frightening and apparent bias incident was caught on surveillance video in Lakewood today, and obtained exclusively by TheLakewoodScoop.com.
At approximately 3:55 PM, a Jewish man can be seen walking along County Line Road, when a passenger of a vehicle threw a fire cracker out the window, exploding just feet away from the pedestrian. The Jewish man can be seen appearing startled and covering his ears.
”I heard it from inside my house, it sounded like a bomb,” a neighbor told TLS.
Police have been notified and are investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.

The same incident happened last week in Toms River on Old Freehold Rd and Bey Lea on Shabbos

I am saddened by these incidents. As the Orthodox community expands into surrounding towns and counties in NJ (due to the high birth rate and growth) in the coming decades, something has to be done to build better tolerance. Your visibility is growing everywhere, and other non-Orthodox need to have a better understanding of your way of life.
As painful as it is to see news such as this about antisemitism or any type of bias for that matter, I am also feeling equally encouraged by your sympathetic and extremely heartwarming comments.
It leads me to believe that maybe, just maybe the world is heading in the right direction after all

I’m not sure if this is antisemitism per se,some see this as a form of fun like looting or breaking windows, graffiti…… maybe a element of antisemitism too. If all they could find walking was a old non Jewish person I don’t think they would hesitate…..

What a terrible thing to say! Everyone has the right to have peace and not live with fear of idiots that are mindless and find humor or some sort of sick pleasure in scaring another human -being. Karma will come around and you’ll see how cruelty is when it touches home.
