Forty-year-old Steven L. Baker of Magnolia who was convicted in August of robbing banks in Lakewood, Brick and Neptune, has been sentenced today to more than 64 years in prison. Prosecutors say he used a gun in all three robberies and verbally threatened bank employees. The robberies took place in September and November 2009 and January 2010.
One of the bank robbed by Baker was the Investors Savings Bank on Route 70 on September 24, 2009, as first reported here on TLS.
He was also ordered to pay more than $145,000 in restitution.

poor guy 64 yrs is a life sentence….he was just trying to put food on his family’s table
y soo long?
The reason the gentlman got 64 years in prision is pehaps due to the fact he point a gun in the teller’s face and took money that wasn’t his! A logical man would have spent time looking for employment or maybe appling for assistance. Clearly he wasn’t thinking and now he is paying the price. Maybe he should have thought how he was going to put food on his family’s table after he was put in jail.
