PHOTO: Investors Bank of Lakewood this afternoon donated $2,500 to Chesed of Lakewood to help the non-profit organization cover expenses of their ‘Recharge’ event during Hurricane Sandy.
Investors Bank Branch Manager Robert K. Gazic and Business Banking Assistant Vice President Sruly Rothstien presented the $2,500 check to R’ Yaakov Wenger of Chesed of Lakewood at the Clifton Avenue branch.
“It’s a way of saying ‘thank you’ for all the hard work”, says Branch Manager Robert Gazic. “It’s great to see the community coming together and helping each other out in time of need”, Gazic said.
When most of Lakewood was without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Chesed of Lakewood held a ‘Recharge’ event at Bais Faiga for three nights in a row, for families to come and enjoy free dinner, entertainment and more. Dinner was served to about 15,000 people, a coordinator says.
The 3-day event ran the organization tens of thousand of dollars. TLS.

It is truly heartwarming to see a local business giving back to the community especially during such trying times. to C-O-L all you volunteers, coordinators, phonecallers, generator shlepper, food makers, “Chessed Goons”, you guys are something special. I hope Lakewood never needs another recharge event but if they do its good that they have COL and all the other fabulous chessed organizations to rely on.
