‘Interstate Chaverim’ Launched Ahead Of Heavy Traveling Season

The car sneezed. Allergy season was definitely in full swing, however, cars were not supposed to be affected by it. At sneeze number two, the car hiccupped, sputtered, and died. Mr. Friedman was lucky to pull over to the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway. The Friedman Clan simultaneously turned to look at their father. He looked back helplessly.

When suddenly, in unison, they all cried out, “Call Chaverim”,

We’ve all come across a situation where we felt helpless, alone, or plainly in the need of a helping hand. We were in the need of a good Chaver. Klal Yisroel is zoche to have an organization compiled of Chaverim. They are here as trusty friends in our time of need. A car breathing its last, weather conditions that make plans go awry, a locked door in sub-freezing temperature, its one phone call and help is on the way. The Chaverim Organizations, by now established in most Jewish communities, is always there with selfless dedication and efficiency.

Chaverim responds to countless phone-calls each day. The situations that arise range from mild to bizarre, and Chaverim is committed to helping them all. Their teams of dedicated and devoted volonteers truly know the meaning of Oilam Chesed Yibaneh. Stop, drop, and roll is what they do as soon as the call comes in. They don’t hesitate before dropping dinner or work and setting off to help you.

Enter the new launching of a collaborative effort involving the unification of Chaverim teams. INTERSTATE CHAVERIM. Chaverim is taking their legendary efficiency, and desire to help you, to a whole new level.

The most frequent instance which Chaverim is called for is road help. There are many unforeseen circumstances that arise on the road, and Chaverim is equipped to deal with most of them. However, if one is stuck in no-man’s-land, be it a shopping center, hospital, park, or some hick town, help might take a long time in coming. All this while, it is highly likely that a Chaverim member from a different area is in close proximity and available and willing to help if they would be aware of the situation.

Logic dictates to call the Chaverim organization from the community you hail from. Precious time is lost waiting for a member to make the long drive to assist you, while you may be mere minutes away from an existing Chaverim member belonging to a different area.

Interstate Chaverim is here to respond to those calls. Its base consists of existing volunteers from various Chaverim Organization. With so many volunteers, someone is bound to be close by, and assistance will be there that much sooner. In this manner, Chaverim Organizations from all over the tri-state area are part of this groundbreaking initiative to help you. The local organizations will also greatly benefit, since these difficult calls will be handled so smoothly.

If an area is already covered or close by a to a different Chaverim branch, Interstate Chaverim will direct you to them. With this novel idea, efficiency in Chesed will take on a different meaning.

Especially now, with Chol Hamoed attractions spanning many areas, Interstate Chaverim is here to help you in an unforeseen situation. Call Interstate Chaverim at 845.425.4357 (HELP).

  2. I am on chaverim in ny. I know that there are laws in regard to stopping on the side of the highway. I have personal experience with that. I took a call for someone out of gas on a highway and the police told me that I must leave. I think there are tow companies that have contracts that cover any incident on a highway and they are the only ones allowed to stop and help. I would gladly join, as I travel between NY and NJ all the time. Anyone have more info on this?
