Instead of $1,000, Commissioner Sadeghi Donates $5,000 to Tomchei Shabbos of Lakewood Following Zip Line Challenge with Committeeman Lichtenstein [VIDEOS]

As first reported on TLS last week, during the opening of the new Slide City Playground in Lakewood, Commissioner Frank Sadeghi challenged Lakewood Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein to a ride down the new zip line, promising to donate $1,000 to the charity of Lichtenstein’s choice.

With a crowd of local officials, families, and community members looking on, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein rose to the challenge and went down the zip line — a moment shared by TLS, which quickly went viral (see the video below).

However, Commissioner Frank Sadeghi reached out to fulfill his pledge — and went well beyond the original $1,000 offer.

Earlier today, Commissioner Frank Sadeghi, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, and Commissioner-Elect Sam Ellenbogen went down to the Tomchei Shabbos offices to deliver a personal check for $5,000.

The contribution will go toward helping local families in need.
