In response to a letter on TLS and requests from parents, TLS reached out to Jays and Presidential to inquire about offering tracking for kids’ buses.
The company told TLS they were working on it for several years, but due to the increased interest, they now decided to launch a pilot program offering two ways for parents to track children’s buses.
Jay’s Bus Service and Presidential Transportation have announced the launch of the new bus tracking feature for families being serviced by the Lakewood Student Transportation Authority (LSTA).
This initiative, currently in its pilot phase, aims to provide parents and guardians with real-time updates on their children’s bus locations.
The pilot program will initially focus on morning routes, with the companies noting that tracking accuracy may vary as they continue to refine the system.
Families have two ways to access the bus tracking service:
By phone: Call 732-276-1176 using the registered phone number on file, which identifies the child’s assigned route.
Online: Visit parent.geotrackny.com to track buses and manage settings.
Parents can also add up to two additional phone numbers through the online portal, allowing a total of three numbers per account. The registered phone number can be verified on the B6T form.
As this is a pilot rollout, the companies are asking families not to call the bus company directly with tracking concerns. Jay’s Bus Service and Presidential Transportation are actively working to improve the system and address any technical issues that may arise.

Kol hakavod! May it go smoothly and hkb’h protect all his children
This is great! I hope it works.
I tried it this morning- the website and phone number both informed me that there is no active route found. This was after I had already brought my son to his bus…
The article and letter dont mention that it costs $10 per month….
How do you know it costs $10/month?
My daughter is on Presidential and this is the first i’m hearing of this
As of now it’s free. Ignore the payment section.
I had the same thing, but I probably tried after the bus arrived in school (we are the 3 blocks from school and pay for our busing since one of those streets is too unsafe to cross).
TLS can you please reach out to DAG as well? Thank you.
Issue is and you could only track one bus at a time until it gets to school and then it goes to the next bus route. So if you have multiple kids in school getting on the buses at similar times it’s not going to work
I was able to track two buses this morning.
There’s also Way to Go & Holcomb bussing that some of us are endlessly waiting for.
Thanks for being proactive.
This is not an LSTA program. This is something being rolled out by Jays (Jays owns presidential).
Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t realize they were one entity.
Nope not working and bus didn’t show up

Im using the map from a mobile device. It doesnt automatically update the live updates. I had to refresh every few minutes and the map jumps each time to the wrong place. I need to move the map to our area and see where its up to with each refresh. Extremely tedious but at least I have some idea of what is going on. Except that in middle of tracking the route suddenly turned off and said no active route.
Amazing thank you so much for putting this to fruition. I keep getting no active route.
Thank you so much to Jays and Presidential for making this happen!!!!!!!
Jays had provided this for camps in 2024 and 2025, but it never actually worked. If it does, that would be helpful.
It worked for my boys camp this summer.
Lakewood Parent Insists School Bus Tracking Service Should Include Recipient’s Signature to Confirm Delivery of Child
Lakewood parent, Avi Benson, says he is extremely happy that a local school bus company is offering tracking services for his son’s school bus route, but he says he would prefer that “the tracking service include a signature delivery-confirmation from Rabbi Goodsfeld, the school’s principal, upon delivery of the children.”
“I’d feel a whole lot better if Rabbi Goodsfeld would provide a signature confirmation each and every morning to confirm that the children have been delivered to the school’s doorsteps, on time, as promised,” Mr. Benson told reporters on Thursday, “because sometimes a school bus will arrive many weeks and months after the scheduled time of delivery, and THAT can set back a child’s educational needs tremendously!”
“Signature confirmation upon delivery of a child is an absolute must, and not a luxury!” Mr. Benson asserted.
However, Rabbi Goodsfeld later told reporters that he has no problem signing his name once a day upon arrival of the school bus. “But,” he said, “I’m not gonna sign my name 300 times a day to confirm delivery of all 300 students. I’m sorry, but that’s just not gonna happen!”
Who else loves the replies to the AI commentator of the innocent thinking its a serious comment LOL
Again silly comments that are useless.
The reason this is only going to be a partial solution is because it only tracks the route once the route has started. So if the driver is starting on the route a half hour late (whether because his prior route had traffic, or for some other reason), it’s just going to indicate “no active route”. If your child is picked up at the first stop of the route, this isn’t going to help you. Likewise, if the driver calls out and there is no sub for that day, you’re going to get the same “no active route”. What’s really needed is a daily text update to parents confirming that the driver has started en route to his first stop.
Can tls clarify why some schools require lunch approval for free lunches while others like cheder dont
It’s based on income. If most of the parent body are eligible for free or reduced lunches, then the whole school can get free lunches. Not sure of the percentage of parent body. Its called CEP program. If school does not have majority, then each individual parent who is not eligible has to pay for their lunches.
Why can’t we get a crack PCS or IDT Team to knock this out. APIs are there for AI. Look for an off the shelf solution. Yidden unite! We have priorities like our children’s safety. We all must think about the whole township’s kids community needs first. BTW I wrote a program years ago that showed every child predator within a 1/2 mile of every bus stop. The township let it slide. So much for the township doing the tracking without the “$tate, County and Con-ractor$ “looking into it”. We are a city with city problems not township old, outdated and likely nepo governance. Sorry but the truth is the truth.
