by C.M. Misameach families spent a beautiful fun-filled evening aboard a luxury 4 floor cruise ship on the Hudson River, where they experienced a much-needed dose of joy, entertainment and inspiration. The cruise had hot food, singers, jugglers and clowns. The music, singing, dancing and geshmake ruach was felt by young and old!
Although rain was in the forecast, B”H from boarding through the end of the cruise there was no rain at all and all went as planned. The energy on the boat was palpable. Misameach’s annual cruise has become a highlight for the families and they look forward to it all year.
The main cruise sponsor was Itzik and Etah Unger in memory of their beloved family member. The food sponsors as well as the dozens of volunteers, singers, entertainers and producers all went above and beyond to make this cruise especially special. Liberty Landing Marina and their courteous staff were very helpful and instrumental in getting the cruise off to a great start. The medical team on board was headed by Dr. Zemel.
The Mendy Hershkowitz Band, Shmili Ungar, Eli Marcus, Yehudah Green and gershy israeli performed and entertained the families on the cruise for hours nonstop all pro bono. They had the people singing along and joining enthusiastically. The children were thrilled with the Cousin Nochum show, the jugglers and clowns, and this year the kids got chance to see the skyscrapers of the New York skyline change colors! What a thrill!
Mendy Hershkowitz and band as well as the entire sound system and gracious singers did a beautiful job bringing smiles to the children and the Misameach families and should be repaid with only good! (Yossi Rosenthal took pictures of the families, making lasting memories as always with his Magnet Memory. They all worked together to make the entertainment run smoothly. These people enjoy doing things for others and making them happy all pro bono!
The volunteers who spent hours setting up the décor did a wonderful job, and the whole atmosphere was amazing. Hot supper was served to all sponsored by Glatt Gourmet, Epstein’s Meat, Mesorah farms A Cut Above Events, Glatt Bite, Glatt Gourmet ,Michael Schick, Evergreen, Volvie Brown, TLS as well as delicious ices dessert sponsored by Klein’s Ice Cream. Snacks were sponsored by Golden Fluff. There were snow cones, crafts and face painting for the children, jugglers and magicians doing their tricks and of course gift bags for each family.
Many who enjoyed the cruise, the entertainment, the chance to get away, the fresh air, the beautiful weather and the stunning views, expressed these sentiments. “We have no words to thank you for the beautiful cruise!…the cruise was a break from a life of doctor appointments.”
The feedback keeps coming in!
The 2023 cruise was a super fun and spectacular event that the families will remember for a long time and are already looking forward to next year’s cruise in Yerushalayim!
