The New Jersey Labor Department is now offering in-person appointments for people still dealing with unemployment claims, the first time such appointments are available for the general public.
People looking to schedule an appointment through the Labor Department website or by calling the agency.
The Labor Department has offered appointments since March but only on a very limited basis and if initiated by Labor Department.
Approximately 1,740 half-hour appointments are available per week at any of the 12 one-stop career centers throughout the state and can be made weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The New Jersey Legislature passed a bill earlier this month which would require the Labor Department to offer an in-person appointment option to those who need one but Governor Phil Murphy has yet to sign the bill.
