AMAZING STORY! Yesterday afternoon, a friend called to ask me for money for Bikur Cholim’s 24 hour campaign. I pushed him off and told him to call back in a few hours. I really thought it’s a good cause but it flashed through my mind that I have not really needed bikur cholim in years so I figured I’d just give a small donation to help out. A couple of hours later, a family member was rushed to the hospital (Monmouth Medical – Southern Campus) and was waiting in the ER to be evaluated. Uncertain of where to turn to make sure she was receiving the best possible care and diagnosis, I called Yehudah Kaszirer on his cell, totally forgetting that they were in middle of a campaign with all possible staff and volunteers frantically scrambling to raise the needed funds to hit their goal. Hearing all the background noise, I figured I’d have to find someone else to help but, within 2 minutes Yehuda put me on the phone with a Bikur Cholim staffer who literally dropped everything and went to the emergency room to make sure everything was ok and called me back within 20 minutes with a full report! So yes, I learned my lesson about this incredible organization of dedicated and selfless people! I would urge everyone to help out and donate quick – I can personally attest that they WILL BE THERE FOR YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM!
