If I may, I would like to add two things to this letter.
There are never two cases that are the same, so just because a person got a PSAK regarding one patient and you think that the patient you are dealing with is the same situation, so you can use that PSAK, you are absolutely wrong. No two cases are ever the same, and you must always ask!!
Some hospitals feel once a patient is brain dead since the patient is legally dead, they can pull the plug. Never let them, have the hospital speak with the above organization, and they will and can work something out.
I had this story, but I don’t want to say how they worked it out because I don’t want it to be used in a similar situation.
