The following letter was issued by the Jackson School District regarding nonpublic school children.
Dear Private School Parents:
This message is to provide an update and timeline for information regarding your child’s transportation for the 2023-2024 school year. We understand how important it is that you receive this information so that you can make arrangements for your child’s transportation if necessary.
- In accordance with state law, the deadline to receive B6T forms from nonpublic schools was March 15, 2023. After eligibility for nonpublic transportation was confirmed, we went out to bid to secure transportation for students eligible to receive transportation to nonpublic schools.
- On May 2, 2023, we held the bid opening, and we received bids for 11 routes.
- On May 17, 2023, the Board of Education, at their meeting, will vote to award transportation bids for these 11 private school bus routes (see information at the end of this letter for the vendors/routes/schools that are set to be awarded).
- As required by the New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C) 6A:27-2.1, the Jackson School District must send students who did not receive transportation to Monmouth and Ocean Educational Service Commission (MOESC) for a second attempt to seek transportation for their school transportation needs. This will take place on May 30, 2023 (this is MOESC’s date for bid opening).
- By June 9, 2023 we will let you know if MOESC secured any bids. NOTE: If their bidding process is unsuccessful, we will know that only the 11 routes being awarded by the Jackson School District will be receiving transportation, and that the remaining eligible students will receive aid in lieu of transportation.
When Will I Know if My Child Has Transportation or if I Will Receive Aid in Lieu of Transportation?
We will inform all eligible parents about the status of their transportation by June 16, 2023.
By this date:
- Students who will be transported via the 11 routes secured through the Jackson School District’s bidding process will be informed directly to the email address provided on your B6T by June 16, 2023. The schools these students attend will also be notified. Bus pass information will be provided by Aug. 17, 2023.
- If MOESC is successful in securing bids via their May 30th bid opening, these students will be informed directly to the email address provided on your B6T by June 16, 2023. The schools these students attend will also be notified. Bus pass information will be provided by Aug. 17, 2023.
- All other eligible students, who did not receive transportation, will be informed that they will be receiving aid-in-lieu of transportation. This notification will be sent to the email address provided on your B6T form.
What Schools/Routes Were Awarded in the Jackson School District’s Bid?
Below are the 11 proposed route numbers and the schools with which they are associated. IMPORTANT – Not all eligible children in each school listed below will receive transportation – just those who will eventually be placed on the listed route. A detailed list with names of students who will be transported on the routes will be provided to each school by June 16, 2023.

Wondering why all the routes picked up were Girls Schools…
We might need to address this “Reverse Shidduch Crisis” by limiting the amount of girls who can attend school, or by shipping off the girls to Israel earlier, before before they start the 8th grade or before their senior high school year. This will make more buses available for the boys.
This has to be a joke. Are the boys more important than the girls?
Is this something that can be done? I’m really curious. Although I doubt the moderator will let this question through.
