Important Message from the Toms River Police Department

The Toms River Department this evening says they will be adding extra patrols this Saturday in response to extremists calling for a Day of Hate.

“We’ve been made aware of some chatter on extremist messaging groups calling for a National Day of Hate this Saturday,” the TRPD told TLS. “These groups call for banners, graffiti and the like to be put on display in areas that might be frequented by the Jewish community.”

“While there is nothing in the chatter that indicates Toms River is a target, we will be conducting extra patrols through sensitive areas,” the TRPD said. “As always, everyone is strongly encouraged to report any kind of incident as soon as possible.”

TRPD direct phone number is: 732-349-0150 extension 1

  1. When informed that extremists are calling for a National Day of Hate this Saturday, a Jewish fellow told reporters on Thursday: “That’s strange. Just ONE day of hate? Are you sure about that? I could have sworn this entire year has been a National YEAR of Hate. At least it felt that way to me.”
The Jewish fellow then requested the reporters to check their sources again.
“I’m not accusing you of deliberately fabricating fake news,” he told the reporters, “but perhaps you are being duped by satirical news sources who are sarcastically referring to an entire year of hate as just a single Day of Hate.”

  2. I’m sorry, but I really don’t think this is an issue to be joked about. Various Jewish organizations have issued alerts to the community to increase their vigilance during this time of dangerously rising antisemitism, including VIOLENT threats and subsequent physical assaults against Yidden. My understanding is that there has been a significant increase in Lakewood permit applications for all types of firearms. A 20-gauge shotgun (less kickback than a 12-gauge) can be had for about $300. I hope that more and more families, after appropriate instruction, have one SAFELY stored away in their closets for home and family defense (G-d willing it will never come to that, though).
