While many have said Kiddush Levana for this month, due to the cloudy/rainy weather of this week many have not. Especially those who waited until after “Zayin Shleimim”.
However, TONIGHT, Friday night, there WILL be a CLEAR and visible Levana.
While we, lechatchila, usually do not say Kiddush Levana on Friday night, however when it is the LAST night then we do. FRIDAY NIGHT IS THE LAST TIME FOR KIDDUSH LEVANA FOR THIS MONTH (TEVES).
Also, it is recommended to say it BEFORE 10:13 pm which is “sof zman” according to the Rema. However, “be’di’eved” if you did not get a chance to say it you can still say it until 3:51 am.
Please note, some poskim (Aruch HaShulchan) hold that if you say it on Friday night then you only say the B’racha and not the extra pesukim etc.
However, others disagree (Rav Dovid Oppenheim of Prague and others) and say that you can say as you normally do (i.e. with all the pesukim etc.).
Sefardim would say everything following the P’sak of the Ben Ish Chai.
Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you
