A shocking report by the New York Times, of all outlets, is throwing into question whether House Intel Committee chairman Adam Schiff helped orchestrate the whistleblower complaint over which House Democrats have opened an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The report by the Times says that the whistleblower reached out to the House Intelligence Committee prior to filing an official whistleblower complaint. A spokesman for Rep. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the committee, confirmed the report. Schiff had previously claimed that he had no direct contact with the whistleblower.
When questioned by Fox News reporter John Roberts about the revelation, Trump said “It shows that Schiff is a fraud. I think it’s a scandal that he knew before.” The president went on, telling Roberts that he would “go a step further. I’d say he probably helped write it. That’s a big story. He knew long before, and he helped write it too. It’s a scam.”
There is no evidence that Schiff assisted the whistleblower in writing up his complaint, but even without that, the news that Schiff’s committee was contacted by the whistleblower prior to his making a complaint can be a major issue for the Democrats. It would also explain why Democrats, specifically House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, opened an impeachment inquiry even before the White House released the call transcript between Trump and the Ukrainian president.
As GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted, “Chairman Adam Schiff just got caught orchestrating with the whistleblower before the complaint was ever filed. Democrats have rigged this process from the start.” He is right – and if Schiff did indeed coordinate with the anonymous whistleblower to make this into a massive scandal imperiling the presidency of Donald Trump, he should be forced out of Congress. This is political swampiness at its absolute worst.
The Dems are desperate. Trump is just too good.
Israeli politics are a lot worst. It just doesn’t have as big of an impact on the world as usa politics.
Yes they did. This is another coup attempt by sore loser democrats after the Russian collusion hoax fail.
It really doesn’t make a difference if it was preplanned because anyway Trump committed a crime. If you read the call transcript you will agree with me. If you didn’t then you have no right to argue.
The only question is if the GOP politicians will go along with the impeachment proceedings, but Trump definitely did something stupid. There’s a reason the White House is hiding his conversations with many other world leaders.
I read the transcript and I don’t agree with you. Which president releases any of his phone conversations with world leaders at all?…Also, “stupid” doesn’t mean “illegal” or “impeachable”. Asking for Biden to be investigated is maybe wrong at worst or not such a nice thing at best but what Biden did was definitely wrong if not illegal and probably impeachable if he was still in office.
Trump is embarrassing the democrats and they can’t stand it. That’s the only thing “wrong” he’s done since taking office.
@idon’tlistentoRushorHannity Stupidity is not a crime! Can you please describe the crime. Asking, and pressuring, a foreign country to investigate a possible crime in their country, is a day to day occurrence. Anything more than that happening, is for now, just imagination.
@chacham. Because Trump asking a leader of a foreign country to dig up information on Biden, a political rival, ahead of an election is against the law. Simple as that.
#hijibx2 Can you state the supposed law, please?
@Chachim.
Under the U.S. Constitution, Section II, Article 4 reads: The President, Vice President and all civil officers is the United States shall be removed from Office for impeachment for and conviction of, treason, bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors.
Sorry, I meant “of the United States” not “ is.”
