IGUD HAMOSDOS: Lakewood Parents Urged to Attend Tonight’s Emergency BOE Meeting

boe 2014The Igud Hamosdos, representing Lakewood’s Frum schools, are urging all Lakewood parents to attend this evening’s emergency Board of Education meeting.

“Unfortunately, the year started without the benefit of many of the services that we traditionally have enjoyed through many Federal and State grants, administered by the Lakewood Board of Education,” the Igud Hamosdos wrote in a letter going home with parents today. “Those services include a school nurse, Title 1 and Chapter 192 instructional services – all tutoring, speech, and social services, textbooks and more. This is due to a deliberate attempt by those responsible to hamper our ability to run our schools properly.”

The Board has scheduled an emergency meeting for tonight to address these issues and “we urge all of our parents to attend so as to lend the proper support to our board members who are trying to overturn these decrees.”

The meeting will be taking place at the Lakewood High School at 7:00 p.m.

“Please do not speak, just show up. Our strength is in our numbers as a Tzibur,” the Igud Hamosdos wrote.

  1. What am I missing ? who are we appealing to ? its a LKWD BOE meeting. Is the state or federal rep gonna be there ? Is that who we’re showing our tzibbur quantity to ? If the BOE decided the cuts, let the BOE reverse them. I’m missing something important here & its not the money. If it would’ve been the money we would’ve known about the cuts before the summer, at the latest. WHatever.

  2. The olam does not understand how important this meeting is to attend there will be no special education that means 3,000 families in Lakewood including teachers affected by this bed decree by Helen.

  3. As a board of ed employee, this is not only the opinion of the Jewish community. You should hear the way the general population at large speak about Helen and the havoc she wrecks upon the public schools. Anyone sane in this town agrees and realizes that Helen is causing wreckage in her position of power. How can we allow an abuser to continue in her evil ways. State Monitor where are you? BOE members, why is she continuing?!???!!!! Someone get rid of her now! It is so obvious! I bet if you separate Laura Winters from Helen and make her come up with her own opinion about what is going on here, she would agree to, if she would be brave enough to open up her mouth and speak without Helen over her shoulders. I mean she must have a brain in there somewhere.

  4. It says
“Its federal and state money that the BOE ‘administers'”. That means that the hired people who work in the boe have to pass the money to the ‘venders’ When they get paid.. Or when they order the books The books come!

The elected body ‘oversees’ the administration, but does not do the actual work

The guy we elect DONT get paid! The have their on jobs . The vote on stuff (and are harassed usually by everyone)

  5. Helen is planning her attack as we speak. The question is…who will she blame and how many will take the fall for her. Mark my words…she will point fingers and the innocent employees who truly care for ALL district children will be blamed. So sad. She has been doing it for years ang getting away with it with the superintendent’s and some higher being’s power.

  6. Everyone in Lakewood knows that will helen is out to do is destroy everything she is only up to no good. and never does she return anyone’s calls and she is not doing her job properly and she is no good. I hear that she screamed vigorously At the people in the Lakewood board office.
And blames everyone for her mishaps.

  7. I don’t understand why members of the public is being asked not to speak. Am I missing something here? People have questions and concerns and they deserve answers. Why would you ask them not to speak?

  8. STARS cannot have orientation and open this year untill this nonsense gets resolved – show up even if your kids arent effected – there are children who have needs and we need to stand up for THEM!!!!!!!

  9. How am I supposed to go to the BOE meeting when my cheder tells me I need to be at the parents orientation tonight??

I certainely don’t want to miss the orientation!
