There has been over a dozen reported accidents in Lakewood this morning due to the icy road conditions, police tell TLS.
Several roads have also been shut until crews can get there to sale it.
Committeeman Ray Coles, liaison to DPW, tells TLS there’s crews out there, but it’s a bit slower due to the holiday. The Committeeman encourages drives to take it slower.
There were multiple accidents reported last night as well, due to vehicles sliding off the roadway.
Temperatures will remain below the freezing mark until Wednesday, the National Weather Service says. Temperatures will dip tonight to around 15 degrees.

Salt. Our taxes r high enough make our roads safe for all travelers
Common sense doesnt cost a dime. Bad roads, storms, cold weather should all be indicators that you should drive a tad slower and a bit safer than normal…
1st thing. To all those that have AWD or 4Wheel drive. It doesn’t mean you could drive like a total maniac, it doesn’t mean you could stop better on snow or black ice. What it means is, is that you would get stuck like a 2 wheel drive will get stuck. 2nd: when you see the road is wet (I know hardly anyone looks at the road these days bc it’s so outdated and it’s not your phone) but wen you see its wet it it’s below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have some brains & put the 2 together it’s probably frozen water which means its ice and you would be able to stop when driving on it. And als it means that if your going over a certain speed you will loose control over you car. And it will end up costing you some money. #ListentoPeoplefromsnowystates
