Hundreds without Power in Lakewood

Over 400 JCP&L customers in Lakewood are without power this morning, apparently due to wires that caught fire.

A tree leaning on wires at the intersection of Ridge Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue seems to be the cause, officials said.

Residents in Raintree, Red Oaks, White Oaks, and other area developments are out of power. Traffic lights at Route 88 and New Hampshire Avenue are also out.

Police have shut traffic at Ridge Avenue and County Line Road to westbound traffic.

JCP&L says power is expected to be restored by about 2 PM.
