Hundreds of Lakewood Families Receive Free Kosher Groceries in Community Distribution [PHOTOS]

Hundreds of Lakewood families received free kosher groceries this evening at BlueClaws Stadium, as part of a large-scale food distribution organized to help local residents struggling with rising food costs.

The event – a joint collaboration between the Lakewood Resource and Referral Center (LRRC), Fulfill, and Lakewood Township – was limited to 1,000 preregistered families.

By early evening, a steady stream of vehicles lined up at the stadium’s Cedar Bridge Avenue entrance, where volunteers efficiently loaded boxes of groceries into each car.

Each household received two boxes of produce, including apples, onions, squash, and potatoes, along with three dozen eggs, two packages of Empire chicken, and a bag of assorted pantry staples.

Just trying to understand what can 2 packages of chicken (basically 8 chicken quarters) could do for a large family. Obviously theses are families that get SNAP so these are families with several children. 8 quarters is one meal. Sincerely just trying to understand how this could help out a family..and perhaps more should be done..

Sponsor more, there will be more. We’re waiting for your 15 million dollar donation to cover the additional food.

It’s not the food amount per se; It’s the knowledge that somebody is looking out for you. That’s worth a whole lot more than 8 quarters of chicken.

I felt so good that someone cares, I didn’t even need to go pick up my can of sweet potatoes.

I tried signing up as soon as I saw the article and slots were all full. I’m sure many had the same experience. What does it help if only some get. Please make a second round for those who didn’t get tyvm

Voluntary charity is good.

Government “charity” is theft.

Don’t tell the Democrats that. Nor those who support the Democrats.
