PHOTOS: Hundreds in Lakewood, Howell without power; Heavy flooding reported in some areas

20161030_204038Hundreds in Lakewood and Howell are left without power this evening following a heavy downpour.

Over 500 JCP&L customers in Lakewood and 700 in Howell are without power.

Neighborhoods affected are mostly along County Line Road and Route 9. The Gourmet Glatt plaza is among affected.

Several traffic lights are out as well. Heavy traffic is being reported in the area of County Line Road and Route 9 due to the traffic lights out. LCSW is helping police man the intersections.

JCP&L says power should be restored by 10:00 PM.

We are also getting reports of some serious flooding in some areas around town. Take it slow when driving through flooded roads. Heavily-flooded roads should not be driven through.

If you spot a downed wire, stay clear from it and report it immediately.

UPDATE 7:40 PM: Police Liaison and OEM Deputy Coordinator Meir Lichtenstein tells TLS OEM has been activated, and members are being dispatched to affected neighborhoods and intersections.

JCP&L is also dispatching additional crews to Lakewood.
