Hundreds Attend Likras Shabbos Annual Siyum And Awards Ceremony

Likras Shabbos Siyum PicPHOTOS & VIDEO of last night’s Annual Likras Shabbos Siyum which took place at the Bais Shaindel Hall on River Avenue, where hundreds of children who participated in the Learning program came to celebrate a Siyum on the Halachos of ‘Dosh’ and an awards ceremony. The event – which was attended by several Rabbonim – included a story and divrei Bracha, and concluded with the raffling off of a Shas and a Shtender, by M.C. Rabbi Tzvi Zev Shwartz Shlita.

The program – currently with over fifteen groups in local Shuls in a variety of neighborhoods in Lakewood, and in many more Frum neighborhoods across America, & Canada – consists of boys spending 30- 45 minutes prior to Kabalas Shabbos learning and acquiring some of the most common Halachos of Shabbos.

One of the major factors of Likras Shabbos’ worldwide success, is the Sefer Meorei Halacha, which is based on the world renowned Sefer Klalim Behilchos Shabbos. Meorei Halacha is an illustrated series of Sefarim on Melachos such as Bishul, Borer, Tochen, and Dosh etc., which is specifically geared for children.

A wide ranging network of paid professional Rabbeim, selected and directed by the Likras Shabbos give the Halacha Shiurim to the boys every Erev Shabbos, putting a particular emphasis on articulating these complex Halachos in an enjoyable, child friendly manner.

Rav Yochanan Bald, a Likras Shabbos Rebbe, amuses-“Honestly, many of the Halachos these young children know in their sleep, are ones I myself didn’t know when I was twenty years old.”

To have your son join your neighborhood’s existing group or to add your local Shul to Likras Shabbos’s list, you can call R’ Yossi Hirsch at the Likras Shabbos office, at (732)363-0669.

Next Sunday, October 10th, a similar event will be held in Toronto at the Bais Yaakov Hall, 15 Saranac Blvd., at 6:30 p.m.
