Hundreds Attend Community-wide Health Screening; Some Sent to Doctor, ER

IMG-20140427-01057PHOTO: At least two people were sent to the Emergency Room and several others sent to the Doctor from the Community-wide health screen event held this week.

Over 600 men showed up to the event to be tested for Cholesterol, Glucose, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturation and Body Mass Index.

The event, which took place at the Chemed building, was coordinated by Hatzolah, Bikur Cholim and Chemed.

  1. After each one of these screenings we are told that some were sent to ER. I’d be curious to know how many of those turned out to have a problem and how many were just sent home. I don’t mean that cynically. I think that these screening are so important. I’m just wondering how to view that information

  2. It means that if 600 people showed up and they saved even one life and perhaps more- it was well worth the effort!
    Def take that over 6000 praying for a a refua or a case already too late to help…

  3. BP is the silent killer
    High blood glucose can be an indication of diabetes
    BMI is worthless cuz if youre obese you know it
    same for heart rate and o2 saturation, if you have low saturation you probably know it.
    they should check the a1c which is a warning sign for diabetes
