Howell Police are looking for witnesses to a crash which left a Lakewood man in critical condition yesterday evening, Howell Police Sergeant Joseph B. Markulic tells TLS.

At approximately 6:14 pm Mr. Rodriguez was traveling east on Old Tavern Road, and as he entered into the second portion of the “S” curve he drove off the roadway to the right, struck a tree with the passenger side of the van. He continued off the roadway and struck a second tree head on, pinning him inside the vehicle.

He was extricated by Squankum FD and transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center by Ramtown First Aid and MONOC MEDICS.

Mr. Rodriguez was listed in critical but stable condition, Markulic says.

“The investigation is still under investigation, however alcohol is not being ruled out”, says Markulic. Summonses are pending.
