It’s an adverse situation too many families in our neighborhoods contend with, but more than 5,000 of their brethren have stepped up to flip the script and save these families from hunger and familial rupture. Since the launch of Tomchei Shabbos’s “My Shabbos Family” initiative, thousands of residents in the Lakewood region have signed up to essentially “adopt” their own family by providing the funds necessary to ensure they have the food they need to blossom and thrive. Through their monthly donations, every participant in this life-changing initiative plays a critical role in fulfilling another family’s needs, and indeed, keeping them whole.
