At least 14 children and one teacher have been killed at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
Additionally, scores of children from the school have been transported to local hospitals.
At this time, not much is known about the 18-year-old shooter, who also killed his grandmother in the attack.
The suspect stormed the campus and began firing before barricading himself on the premises. He was killed by responding officers.

The School is approximately 80 miles from San Antonio Texas.
UPDATE: Statement from Acting Attorney General Platkin on School Security in the Aftermath of the Uvalde, TX School Shooting
Today, 14 children and one teacher at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas were killed, and others injured, in a mass shooting. Nothing about this is normal. We do not have to accept that we live in a country where children are shot just for going to school. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and we must all do everything we can to end the epidemic of gun violence.
The safety of our State’s residents—including and especially our children—is my top priority. Tonight, joined by New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Callahan, I spoke with law enforcement officers from across the state to ensure coordination in the aftermath of this tragedy. I also directed the New Jersey State Police and our 21 County Prosecutors to increase law enforcement presence at schools throughout New Jersey effective immediately. The State Police will increase their presence at the schools where Troopers are the primary law enforcement. The County Prosecutors will direct their municipal police departments to likewise increase law enforcement presence at schools throughout their jurisdictions.
Our students, their families and caregivers, teachers, and school administrators should feel safe in school, and be assured that New Jersey’s law enforcement agencies will do everything in their power to protect them.
If you are in an emergency: call 9-1-1 immediately.
NJSP: We are closely monitoring the situation in Uvalde, Texas. Utilizing the New Jersey Regional Operations and Intelligence Center, we are in constant communication with our law enforcement partners within the state and throughout the region. At this time there are no specific threats known to New Jersey.
As part of our commitment to keeping New Jersey’s schools safe, the State Police will have an increased presence at all 107 schools where troopers are the primary police.
Troopers who travel in unmarked units will also be randomly and consistently visiting schools they pass as they commute to their assignments throughout the state.
Our hearts go out to the City of Uvalde, Texas, in the wake of this tragic school shooting. Please keep the victims and their families in your prayers.

Crazy world we are living in!!!
All of you who are against more gun control have become totally submissive to political conservatives. Even if you are politically conservative, as I am, you don’t have to drink their koolaid down to the last drop. Be selective in what you can accept. THINK, don’t just parrot everything they say. Obviously there has to be some more controls on who can get guns. What will history say about these last years of mass shootings of innocents again and again? This is horrific!
Rabbi Avigdor Miller (may his memory be blessed) explained similar stories very clearly.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU SEE.
Our lovely government in Washington D.C. says that it is 100 % legal to post or watch every single wild crazy movie or video on the internet. Any age individual can upload legally every single type of shooting videos or murder videos. Everyone can upload and everyone can download, whatever your heart desires.
Obviously, this shooter was watching recently some interesting horror, murder, mafia and drug cartel videos.
Our brilliant government is having a hard time to connect the dots.
It is pretty simple, if you are going to watch crazy wild videos, it will turn you into a monster. This is not rocket science.
Abraham, well said!
We live in a culture of perversion, violence, corruption, Nebuch it becomes reality
We are not doing our youth justice by being so permissive
Such tragedy
And are we becoming numb to these tragedies, stories day in and day out
