During the past several years, the NJ Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness has partnered with the Lakewood Police Department to bring an assortment of homeland security programs and trainings to Lakewood. Today’s meeting focused on future partnering efforts and ways in which can further engage the community in the “See Something, Say Something” concept.
With the number of private schools and religious institutions in Lakewood, the Department believes it is essential that the public report suspicious activity.
The officials discussed and explored ideas with the faith based leaders on how to accomplish this task and encourage the public to come forward. [TLS]
